Kyle is a former college baseball coach at Sierra College with 9 years as a collegiate assistant. He started his coaching career in 2011-12 at Sierra College. After one year at Sierra College, Kyle took a job at Yuba College as the head assistant coach. His responsibilities increased as he became the entire defensive coach and assisted with hitting. His second season at Yuba College, Kyle was promoted to associate head coach when head coach, Erick Burns, took over the role as the athletic director during the season.
Following his two seasons at Yuba, Coach Richardson took the leap to the NCAA Division I level by accepting a job at the University of Nevada, Reno where he was an assistant under current LSU head coach, Jay Johnson. Kyle's main priorities were to work with the infielders as well as assist with the left handed hitters. During that season, Kyle had 3 NCAA All-American hitters in Austin Byler (11th round MLB Draft 2015), Kewby Meyer (who led the NCAA in doubles that season), and Trenton Brooks (Freshman of the Year in the Mountain West Conference).
In addition to coaching during the spring, Kyle also served as a coach in the prestigious Alaska Baseball League for 5 years with the Kenai Oilers. His last 2 summers he served as the Head Coach. While coaching for the Oilers, Kyle shared success with staffs that earned a first-place finish and a second-place finish in the Alaska Baseball League, as well as a 2nd place finish at the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS. During his time in Alaska, Kyle helped assemble rosters that had 44 players drafted including 8 in the top 10 rounds and a first round pick in Patrick Wisdom who just cracked the major league roster with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018, and currently plays for the Texas Rangers as well as Garrett Stubbs who currently plays for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Kyle was born and raised in Citrus Heights, CA. He played baseball at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA. His senior year in 2005 he led the Broncos to the CAL League title, hitting .469 and earning CAL League MVP honors. He began his college career at Sierra College from 2005 to 2008 playing center field, second base and shortstop for the Wolverines. In 2007 Kyle earned second team All Big-8 honors in 2007 and in 2008 Kyle earned first team All Big-8 honors and his Sierra team won the CCCAA State Championship.
After two years as a Wolverine, Kyle received a scholarship to play baseball at Cal State Bakersfield, where he started at shortstop for the Roadrunners competing against teams in the Big West and Pac 12 primarily. He was part of the first baseball team ever in the history of the school and had the first home run, RBI, run scored and hit ever in the history of the program in his first Division I at-bat. He led the Roadrunners in hitting his junior season, hitting .298, and finished his Division I career with a batting average of .278.
Jesse joins the Wolves staff as the Director of Pitching Development . Jesse brings 10 years of coaching experience to the program where he has specialized in high level pitching training. Jesse graduated from El Camino High School in Carmichael, CA where he earned all-league honors his senior year as a quarterback and pitcher for Football and Baseball. Jesse was selected to pitch in the High School Optimist game his senior year which consisted of the areas top players. Jesse also currently serves as the pitching coach for the Lincoln Potters Collegiate Summer Team.
Jesse started his college career at Sierra College where he helped guide the Wolverines to a State Championship in 2008. After his freshman year, he was selected to pitch in the Sophomore Showcase, which had over 60 college/professional scouts in attendance. The Wolverines were able to follow up with a Super Regional appearance the following year.
After two years as a Wolverine, Jesse earned a full scholarship to play at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Jesse lead the UNLV bullpen in strikeouts and ERA his junior year and helped get the Rebels to a top 20 rank in the NCAA RPI during the season.
After his college career ended, Jesse pitched professionally in the Pacific Association Baseball League and the Can-Am League for 3 seasons.
Kurt joined the program to act as the 13u & 14u Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach for both 14u teams. Kurt has recently transitioned to the Head Coach for the 14u Gold Team. Kurt pitched at Sacramento State in 2001. Before that he was a standout 2-way player for Los Medanos College and Laney College.
Brian is a former college player and coach at Diablo Valley College. Brian was a catcher in his playing days and is the catching coordinator of the Wolves program. He recently ran his own Lincoln Bulldogs program where he oversaw the program and helped develop many local Lincoln players that are currently in high school.
Coach Brian has been coaching for 25 years, the last 10 years on the dirt. It’s what he loves to do. So many life lessons are learned through sport and the opportunity to have a positive impact on every player is a privilege. He focuses a lot on the mental game and helping his players to play free from fear because he feels that the more confident the player the better they will perform. The opportunity to tap into the incredible talent of this proud area and help put Yuba College Softball on the map is something he is truly excited about.
His softball coaching journey at Five Cities in Loomis coaching rec, Coach Brian started the Screaming Eagles B (select) program and coached that for 4 years. In 2018 he moved to LTG where he built the 2022 team and finished with the 2023 team. He has also spent the past 6 years coaching the Granite Bay High School Varsity team and last year was an assistant at Sierra College. Coach Brian has helped 30+ girls reach their goal of playing at a 4 year University. Hi teams have won numerous tournaments at the local and national level. 2023- 5th 18u Colorado Fireworks Power Pool Coach Brian played basketball at Gavilan College in Gilroy, Ca. He was a high school boy’s basketball coach for 7 years as well as coaching numerous youth sports along the way. He fell in love with the game of softball coaching his daughter’s teams the past 10 years.
Joey began his coaching career at Bella Vista High School for Coach Don Barney. He was the Head Coach of the JV team for 3 years and a Varsity Assistant for 1 year. He then coached 2 years as an assistant at Kailua High School in Hawaii. After his sons were born he stepped away from coaching high school and started coaching youth baseball. Joey has amassed over 20 years in youth coaching.
Will Law was born and raised in San Diego, California. He graduated from Cathedral Catholic High School where he played first base and third base. Will attended Saint Joseph's College on a baseball scholarship in 2014. He then transferred and played at San Diego Mesa Community College. He was awarded to the PCAC All Conference team. Will then went on to play locally for the Lincoln Potters collegiate summer ball team. He hit .335 with seven homeruns and was named to the Summer Collegiate All American team as a shortstop. Will received a scholarship to play baseball at William Jessup University where he finished with a .321 average and 30 homeruns in his two years at William Jessup. Will recently made the transition to coaching as he helped coach the Lincoln Potters to a 25-18-1 record in the 2019 season.
After college at Cal Poly and UCLA, in 1996, Robert returned to his passion, baseball, embarking on his coaching journey with a Roseville Little League youth team. This marked the beginning of an extensive coaching career spanning over three decades. Over that time he has coached a diverse range of levels and age groups. His experience includes recreational baseball leagues, providing a fun and accessible entry point to the sport for young players. He's also coached select and all-star teams, composed of players demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. His involvement extended to travel teams, competing in tournaments and showcasing their talent across different regions. Furthermore, he's contributed to the development of high school players, both at the junior varsity, varsity levels and travel, honing their skills and preparing them for competitive play. This wide range of coaching experiences reflects his adaptability and commitment to nurturing baseball talent at all levels.
Most recently, in 2018, he joined the Wolves as an assistant coach to Kyle and brought home the organization's first tournament championship. He then returned to high school baseball, taking on a coaching role at Del Oro High School from 2019-2022. He served as a Varsity Assistant Coach and later as JV Head Coach, responsible for shaping the skills and game sense of younger players, and preparing them for the challenges of varsity-level competition. He rejoined the Wolves organization in 2023, demonstrating his continued dedication to youth baseball development. Currently, in 2024, he is coaching the 11U team, working with the next generation of players and instilling in them a love for the game.
Robert's passion for baseball extends beyond the field and into his family. His eldest son, Zach, recently played college baseball and now contributes to the Wolves organization by coaching during schools breaks and weekend tournaments. His younger son, Anthony, is currently playing and pitching at Del Oro High School, and got his first experience coaching in 2023.
Nick Paulsen has been an assistant Varsity coach at Vista Del Lago for 3 years. Before that, he was an assistant coach at El Camino High School. Nick graduated from Jesuit High School where he lettered in varsity baseball.
